The District Court of Rotterdam has permitted a defendant (charged with breaching Russia sanctions by exporting computers to Russia via third countries) to continue trading his company’s stock pending his criminal trial (judgment).
The court held that, as the defendant has no other source of income and his fixed costs continue to rise, the defendant’s interest in generating income outweighed the criminal prosecution interest.
