Hungarian national arrested for exporting military-grade radios to Russia

The US Department of Justice has issued a press release detailing the arrest of Bence Horvath, a Hungarian national. Horvath has been charged with alleged violations of US export controls targeting Russia, specifically with one count of conspiring to violate the Export Control Reform Act of 2018. He is alleged to have conspired with others to export US military-grade radio tech to Russian government end users without the requisite licence.

The press release alleges that Horvath worked with others to manage a “multinational procurement network” dealing directly with multiple entities in the Russian government. No further arrests have been reported.
