OFAC has designated 1 individual and 1 entity (both from the West Bank) to its Specially Designated Nationals (“SDN”) list: Yitzhak Levi Filant and Hashomer Yosh respectively. According to a press release from the US Department of State, Filant is the civilian security coordinator of the Yitzhar settlement in the West Bank. He has been designated for “malign activities outside the scope of his authority” including allegedly setting up roadblocks and patrols to pursue, attack and expel Palestinians.
Hashomer Yosh is an Israeli NGO. It was said to have fenced off a village after 250 Palestinian were forced to leave, preventing their return. The NGO is also alleged to support Meitarim Farm (US-designated, see previous post) and to have guarded the outposts of Israeli individuals designated by the US (see previous post and previous post).
OFAC has also deleted the entry for Ilya Borisovich Brodskiy, a Russian individual designated for his links to Sovcombank Open Joint Stock Company.
